Photographs and text by Darin Graber ’05

SPACE

New York City flattened me with its mass, its height, its hardness. The streets were like canyons, and as I made my way through them, between rows of staggering buildings, they felt almost as rugged. New York challenges the sky.

LIFE

Buying, talking, mixing, riding, driving, selling, working, building, glaring, sitting, walking, growing up in the city, growing old there, smiling, singing, dancing, taunting, helping, or showing off their (often adopted) hometown, the inhabitants of NYC were always going.

ELECTRICITY

The pulsing of traffic, of people, of energy made even walking the streets like holding a lightning rod in an electrical storm.
